LINC-Collaborative Conversations: Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards Implementation

Meaningful conversations can stimulate the mind, strengthen our pedagogy, and inspire our teaching strategies. This course will use structured discussions to engage teachers in important conversations about the implementation of the computer science and digital fluency standards. Through collaborative discourse, participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement these standards in easy, meaningful and engaging ways.

Audience:  All Educators

The content of this course is provided from Mike Anderson's Leading Great Learning online platform. The focus of the course is on kids who struggle with challenging behaviors and get caught in a negative cycle of bad behaviors leading to negative interactions with adults, which leads to more bad behaviors. Learn how to build positive relationships with your students who need it the most!

LINC-Collaborative Conversations for Mentors

Audience: pre K-12 Mentors, other educators interested in mentoring

This 6-hour hybrid workshop equips mentors with essential communication skills to foster effective and meaningful dialogues. Combining both synchronous and asynchronous learning methods, this workshop provides a flexible and comprehensive approach to mastering collaborative conversations. Participants will engage in interactive live sessions and self-paced modules to explore key topics such as active listening, constructive feedback, and conflict resolution. By the end of the workshop, mentors will be equipped with practical tools and techniques to build stronger, more supportive relationships with their mentees, enhancing both personal and professional growth. LINC-Teaching in a Digital World

Audience: K - 12 Educators

When: 3/17/2025 to 4/2/2025 (Required Synchronous meetings at 4:30 pm on March 17th & March 31st)

This course will focus on best practices and strategies to implement the new NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency Learning Standards into K-12 classrooms. In this course, participants will explore Computational Thinking, Networks and Systems Design, Digital Literacy, and Impacts of Computing along with several edtech resources and tools that can support the integration of these learning standards into the classroom. This course is appropriate for all K-12 educators. (15 CTLE hours)

LINC-NYSTC SWD PreK-K Certification Extension Course

Audience: Teachers certified in SWD Grades 1-6 with at least three years of teaching experience in grades 1 and/or 2

Course Dates: 1/15/2025 to 4/11/2025

Required Synchronous Meetings Wednesday, January 15th & 22nd, February 12th & 26th, March 19th & 28th from 4:00-7:00 pm

In June of 2018, NYS approved a new certification pathway for special educators interested in extending their existing certification to address the growing shortage of certified special education teachers in NYS. Special Educators who have an existing NYS Students with Disabilities Generalist Grades 1-6 certification, who are interested in obtaining an extension for grades PK-K, are invited to study this grade band through a three course series: Knowledge of Students (15 hrs.), Instructional Strategies (15 hrs.) and Professional Practice (15 hrs.).

Together, these three courses meet NYSED Special Education CTLE Certification criteria for extending an existing NYS Students with Disabilities Generalist Grades 1-6 certification to include grades PK-K.  (45 CTLE hours)
